All shapes and sizes of people, and all levels of fitness, from beginner to active, notice improvements in range of motion, flexibility, circulation, posture, and abdominal strength, and decreases in back, neck and joint pain through Pilates.
By creating a solid foundation and strong core, you can easily avoid injury due to weaknesses, body imbalances, or even general pitfalls due to our occupation or chosen form of exercise.
With regular practice, you will noticeably improve:
- Body awareness
- Muscle length
- Motor (neurological) patterning
In the Beginner and Regular series we use three of the major pieces of Pilates equipment – the reformer, mat and chair – along with a few minor pieces. Each class focuses on one of the major pieces.
You’ll learn to be in control of your body, increasing power output, reducing possibilities of injury and allowing you to handle stress more effectively.
Our classes are held in an intimate setting, with a maximum of 4 students so we can provide more personalization. Our 6 week program will progress you through a series of exercises, and as your body becomes stronger and attunes to the training, layers of complexity are added, helping you further develop your own mastery of each movement.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is your class schedule?
New Beginner series starts April 24th. Chose from the following start dates:
Monday April 24th 10am – 11am or 6 – 7pm
Tuesday April 25th 5 – 6pm
Thursday April 27th 7:30 – 8:30pm
Friday April 28th 10am – 11am
What do I wear?
Please wear something comfortable that allows for easy movement. Gym clothes, yoga outfits – as long as you feel good in it and can move easily. Clothing that is more fitted allows the instructor to get a better idea of your specific positioning, versus a baggy sweatshirt and sweatpants that you’ll be swimming in.
What should I bring?
We suggest bringing a water bottle and small towel.
How long is the class?
Each class is one hour in length (60 minutes).
Will Shadow be in the class?
While an expert in all thingsPilates, Shadow’s often likes to nap in his bed or will be busy patrolling the premise ensuring everyone’s safety. Besides, we think you’d look better on the equipment than him.

Your Pilates Instructor
My experience with therapeutic movement began when I found Yoga in 1999. For thirteen years I maintained a disciplined daily practice. I also taught Hatha Yoga for five of these years.
In 2009, after running a half marathon, I acquired tendinitis in one of my knees. My physiotherapist recommended strength training as a long-term solution. After a few injuries resulting from weight training, a friend suggested Pilates and from there, I embarked on an immersive journey as a student and now instructor of Pilates. I founded Tone Pilates in 2014 and as a brilliant exercise system, it brings me joy to be able to share it with you.
